Albany's own American Hockey League franchise enters its 16th season entertaining Capital District Fans in October of 2008. The River Rats enter the 2008-09 campaign looking for their third consecutive playoff berth and will once again serve as the top affiliate of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes! The team plays its home games at the
Times Union Center from October – April.
